No Limits: The Story of Babe Didrikson Zaharias

Some regard Babe Didrikson Zaharias as one of the greatest female athletes of modern times–and for good reason. While she is best known for her 20-year professional golfing career, including 82 tournament wins, she also excelled at nearly every other sport she endeavored. She demonstrated her athleticism to the world through sports as varied as track, swimming, tennis, baseball, and billiards. In fact, she won two track and field gold medals at the 1932 Olympics following her time as an All-American basketball player.

In 2003 Annika Sorenstam was the first woman to compete in a men's professional golf tournament since Didrikson Zaharias played the PGA tournament 1945.

Didrikson Zaharias was undoubtedly an incredible athlete, proving herself among both women and men. In fact, in 2003 Annika Sorenstam was the first woman to compete in a men's professional golf tournament since Didrikson Zaharias played the PGA tournament 1945. Living from 1914 to 1956, she encountered many societal barriers; but she was a woman ahead of her time and a tremendous athlete, so none would slow her down.
